life life life

So. I've been bad about posting on here. Spring break is just about over, so I had a great week, which I will talk about in a bit, but in the weeks before that, I had crazy amounts of work due, got the flu, had lots and lots of tennis, and had a really fun time at our annual 80's party! So. For starters, tennis is going fabulously. We lost a match, to Univ. of Mary Washington, which was sad, and probably shouldn't have happened, but THEN we beat Emory and Vasser....important here to point out that Emory has been the #1 ranked team for quite a few years and we beat them. To add to that, CMS (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps) is our other biggest competition, are ranked #2 and definitely are our biggest competition in our conference, and CMS lost to Emory....so thats very exciting. Sarah (sister Sarah, there are a bunch of Sarah's in my life...haha) might come visit the weekend we play CMS, which will be very exciting! So. Thats tennis. New rankings should come out in a few weeks. We have our craziest week of the year coming up starting wednesday, where we have a week with 6 matches, two days of which have double headers. Absolute craziness, all the east coast teams come out here for spring break. And, as soon as the week is over, our team is heading to Texas, to Trinity College, to play in a tournament. So much fun! So. Whew.
In other news, we had out big 80's party, an annual party at Pomona, we hire the same band every year, which is this AMAZING cover band and everyone gets REALLY into it and dresses up and its a blast. So. Enjoy the pictures, hehe. Everyone said I looked like a scandalous 80's secretary. haha.
Aaaand spring break. On Tuesday, Sarah, Lindsay and I went to San Diego for the day, which was fun, and then on Wednesday, we headed to Rosarito to meet up with a bunch of the tennis girls, and we just got back Saturday night! Rosarito isn't too classy of a place, its a border city, just 20 miles past Tijuana, so just past the border, on the west coast of Baja. San Diego is about a 2 hour drive from campus, its a litttle less than an hour from San Diego to the border and then half an hour to Rosarito, so not too far from campus. As I said, Rosarito isn't too classy, its a big spring break destination, but we rented a house in a 'gated' (ie archway with a chain and a guard) neighborhood. So, you had to drive all the way through this neighborhood to get to our house, because we had a house on the beach! so, by the time you reached the house the area was safe, nice and fairly far removed from the craziness of spring break parties, yet still a 5 minutes walk to food. So, we had a beautiful house owned by a family from Santa Cruz and we had a porch, a patio and a beach. We had a fabulous fabulous time just relaxing, lying on the beach and on the patio, playing cards, and sleeping a lot. Something we were all in need of! It was a perfect vacation.
So, life, schoolwise, shouldn't be too bad the next few weeks, but tennis will be madness, and then the last weekend of march I'll be gone in Texas with the team. The big event of the next few weeks is that elections are coming up. I'm running for ASPC president, which is student body president. I'm very nervous but very excited and so I'll keep you posted on how that goes! Enjoy all the pictures, and thanks for reading all this!
